This is a great interview with actor Asia Kate Dillon on Seth Meyers' show. They talk about their gender exploration as a non-binary person and the ways in which representation is really important, and how there is more than one way to express yourself as a non-binary person.
A really great watch, highly recommend!

Thanks for sharing! I found this valuable because the experiences of non-binary people have not been discussed much in class, and this did a great job of highlighting how diverse and fluid identity is and why that makes it difficult to teach in a comprehensive or general way.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed watching this! Asia Kate Dillon made such an important point about how essential it is to have caring and well-informed allies in a workplace to prevent the burden of education from sitting entirely on the backs of non-binary, gender fluid, or transgender coworkers.
ReplyDeleteAwesome interview! Thanks for sharing this. I found it super interesting how a role on a tv show drove her to better understand her identity off screen. I also think it is a big step for LGBTQ publicity to have character of a popular show go on a major talk show and be so open about her struggle and journey towards discovering her own identity. My mom has been trying to get me to watch Billions for awhile now and after seeing this interview I might actually start watching it.
